Mr Jackson - You say a voice among many, ATLEAST IT WILL BE A VOICE. What say do we onestly have in Europe now? Nothing zilch. And Why care about the international world which is what labour and Westminister is always orientated by, Power, wealth and money. An independent Wales with her own prime minister need not focuz on the world but FOCUS ON WALES. SOMETHING THAT WESTMINISTER HAS NEVER DONE!. Also Why should Labour, Torries, Liberals etc be pushed out of Wales after independence? Yes plaid are nationalists but that does nto mean there is no place in Welsh politics for other parties.

Mae'ch agwedd chi yn un sydd yn rhy gyffredin yng Nghymru ac yn niweidio'n gwlad ni'n ddyddiol.

You'r attitude is one which is to common in Wales and is damaging our country daily.

RomaNtic view but what about the practicalities ? Services in Wales - health , education , social services, policing , etc. cost a huge amount of money. The tax revenue from Wales does not cover it. The difference is made up by the fact that London raises more tax than it needs for purely London services and therefore can subsidise the rest of the UK including Wales. Independence will not give Wales an equal seat at the EU table . It means that any subsidy will have to come from Europe which in itself is subsidised by UK and Germany. Wales would have to prove itself fiscally to be accepted into Europe where it would become one voice among many. As it stands there is nothing to stop a Welshman becoming UK PM with power in the world as opposed to a Welsh PM who will have to struggle to get his voice heard. And what political parties would there be in an independent Wales - only Plaid Cymru , of course . What reason would the others have to stay.
Perhaps this is more about Plaid wanting power which they will never have in the UK as a whole.

Adam's piece makes an excellent point. We should learn from our past in order to shape our future. Going down the route of expecting English rule to put Wales at the forefront of its priorities has failed us time and again. It is only by shaping our own destiny can we ensure that the best choices for Wales can be put forward

I believe this is the right time to ask these questions. Within this union we are the poorest region and nation of the UK and many areas of Wales are the poorest in Western Europe. We need to change this and have the confidence to see that we are talented people who can pull Wales out from the bottom of the barrel. Too many Welsh young people are leaving to find opportunities as the British government hasn't given them reason to stay, here or in the UK. Nations in Europe that have broken their chains and have become independent have done better for themselves, WALES CAN too!

Zbigniew Bak: Do not feel that you need to apologize for writing in English. You make an excellent argument - this is about promoting Welsh independence, not an argument against a partnership with England based on friendship and equality. Pob hwyl i ti gyda dysgu Cymraeg!

Mae'n ddrwg gen i .Yr wyf i'n ysgrifennu Saesneg, achos yr wyf i'n dysgu Cymraeg eto.I am Silesian and my country defenite loss the chance to be independent,we want only autonomy. But Wales is one of the oldest nation in Europe, with splendid history, beautiful language, rich culture .Wales really deserve to be an independent country. Many small ,youngest and poor nations of Europe created own independent states. Some of them are members of EU and develope faster then countries, which part they were previously-for example Estonia and Slovenia. The most important is,they secured their future as a nations, because they are independent. The same should happen with Wales.Welsh people shouldn't afraid of break ties with England, because as a members of EU,the important ties will exist. But as independent country,Wales will be an equal partner to England ,among other members of EU.Present status of Wales in UK isn't equal.Wales-don't hesitate, hen wlad fy nhadau deserve to be independent. From 1282 -the killing of LLYW OLAF,the 21 th Century is the best time to take the fate of Welsh Nation from the English hands.DEWCH YMLAEN CYMRU.
